NOTE FROM THE DESIGNER: I like to have a sample or full copy of the product for which the design is being created. If it is a music CD, I will listen to the music while I work on the project. If it is a video, I will watch it several times and have it on in the background during the design process. This method helps me to connect with the project and provides additional inspiration and insight into the essence of what should be conveyed in the artwork. When the project is complete, whatever materials you provided will be returned.

If you are choosing your own reproduction company we require access to the company’s design requirements – specifically their templates and measurements, their output requirements and file types etc. We can also recommend CD reproduction companies. We have had good experience with Play-It Productions in New York.

In order to work in an iterative, efficient manner we require at least one person in your organization to provide feedback on new design concepts in the early stages and throughout the project. Design reviews can be done over the Internet in a password protected space.

FINAL OUTPUT FOR CD PROJECTS will be provided in
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 PC or MAC
Adobe Illustrator 10 PC or MAC
Lettering can be in Illustrator, Pagemaker or Quark if needed
All graphics file types are available.

Please ask us if you need files produced in other formats - we'll do our best to accommodate you.

DESIGN PROCESS

  • When we receive the initial project specifications from you, we will review and confirm everything with you to make sure we understand the project.
  • We will work with you to come up with a target date for the initial proofs for first review, and on a final target date for finished proofs.
  • The artwork is created and web versions are posted on the Internet for interested parties to review. We can also mail printed proofs to you.
  • If we are creating new design concepts, we may come up with several different design motifs or scenarios, and ask for your input on choosing one. We will work with you iteratively until we get something that fits.
  • If we are reproducing existing work, then we will post the graphics for your review for accuracy. Printed proofs can also be mailed.
  • Prints of the final graphics are provided at the end of the design cycle before submission to the reproduction company
